One of the greatest experiences whilst travelling, is being able to see different types of sunsets and sunrises from around the world. Earth has only one sun (Or possibly 2), but depending on the location we are in, there is a uniqueness of how it displays itself when rising in the morning and setting in the evening. Here are some of the best I have captured:
1. Larnaca Salt Lake:
With no one else in sight, I took the opportunity to take several photographs of this beautiful sunset. The shallow water’s reflections, highlights the bright colours in the sky.

2) Oia:
One of the world’s most famous locations for watching the sunrise, simply because the views over the Caldera are beautiful. Every night, the main spots are crowded by tourists trying to get that perfect photograph.
3) Athens
Climbing Philopappos Hill to get one of the best views over Athens is something every visitor should do whilst in Athens. Watching the sun set over the city and the Acropolis is memorable and a great way to end a day of sightseeing. Even during the peak season, it was not very busy and quiet enough to grab your own remote spot.
4) Vodna Mountain
Climb or take the cable car to the top of this picturesque mountain for spectacular views across the country. A burst of colour explodes in the sky as the sun goes down.
5) Prizren
After a steady climb to an ancient fortress, travellers watch the sunset over this stunning city in Kosovo.
6)Belgrade Fortress
I sat amongst locals and other tourists to witness the best sunset over Belgrade. A perfect place to meet new people and to open a bottle of wine.
7) Bucharest
This surprising sunset photo was taken from my hostel balcony, moments before I was leaving Bucharest.
8) Dubai
Inside the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa offers a great panorama across Dubai, highlighted by the beautiful sunset.
9) Zadar
Famous for its Sea Organ, Zadar is popular with tourists. This is definitely one of my favourite sunsets I have ever seen. The sky constantly changed colour and gave a surreal experience I have not seen anywhere else!
10) Siem Reap
To see the famous Sunrise over Anchor Wat, be prepared to start your day at 4am in pitch black and join the other herd of tourists patiently waiting for the sun to appear. Unfortunately due to clouds, I did not see a bright sunrise, but it still made a memorable experience watching the sky slowly light up into different colours whilst exposing the outline of the temples.
11) Wadi Rum
Driving through this huge desert with no one else in sight added to the peacefulness of the sunset as it peeked between the rocks.
12) Masada
I took this shot whilst waiting at the bus stop on the way back to Jerusalem. I have never seen the sky turn into these colours before and it grew even more intense as the sun set further.
13) Pamukkale
Mineral rich thermal pools reflect the beautiful sunset on a landscape of carbonate mineral terraces.
14) Oahu
An early morning climb to the top of Diamond Head Crater in Oahu was worth it just to see the sunrise across the island.
15)Barrow
At the most northern point of the USA, I experienced my most unique sunset so far. Watching the sunset over a frozen Arctic sea was certainly a strange and magical phenomenon.
16) Thingvellir
I captured an interesting photograph in this popular National Park. A contrast between a fiery red sky and a bleak volcanic landscape.
17) Cappadocia
Although a hot air balloon ride is not cheap, I highly recommend this to anyone travelling to Turkey for an unmissable sunrise over some of the best natural landscapes you will ever see.
18) Dubrovnik
Sneaking into the city walls after closing time was worth it, even to only witness this beautiful sunset.
19) Mount Nemrut
Being on the top of Mount Nemrut is an experience unlike another. With the huge head statues and over 2000 years of history, the sunset across the landscape makes it one of the best in the world.

20) Oslo
The sunset glows through the transparent glass of the Opera House in Oslo.
